If you thought the fiery Year of the Horse was hot, think again!
Summer has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere, and things are about to turn up the heat even more. Not only is the season bringing its natural warmth, but June carries the energy of the Yang Wood Horse. Here is why that matters: Wood is the element that feeds Fire. Which means this wildfire is about to burn out of control. This is double Horse energy, and in Chinese astrology that is called a self-penalty. The self-penalty of the Horse brings an air of arrogance. So, if you have a Horse in your chart, this is your month to watch yourself!
If you find yourself getting impulsive, disconnected, or a little too full of yourself, stop. Slow down and pay attention to the people who love you. Things are already moving fast enough energetically this year. Self-awareness is the key that can cool things down. This applies to everyone, not just the Horses among us.
Some practical ways to bring in cooling energy this month: drink plenty of water and bless it first. Visit a lake or stream. Take a bath. Wear a cooling face mask. Adding Earth energy will also help tremendously. Grounding practices like yoga, meditation, walking outside, sitting on the grass, or visiting a mountain if you have one nearby are all wonderful antidotes to all this Fire. And on the flip side, have some fun! Horses are social animals who love to play. Get together with friends, go on an adventure, and use a little logic and caution to keep things from going sideways.

Mercury moves into Cancer, June 1st
Mercury, the planet of communication, stepped into Cancer on June 1st, bringing a welcome splash of water to all that Fire energy. Cancer is a water sign, and it softens the way we speak and listen. The invitation here is to let your heart guide your conversations and your intuition guide your delivery. Just be mindful not to let emotions completely take over. Feel deeply, and then speak from that grounded, heart centered place.

Chiron changes signs, June 19th
This one is big. Chiron, the wounded healer, moves out of Aries and into Taurus on June 19th, and for those of us born in 1976, 1977, and some in 1978, this marks our Chiron return.
Chiron is an asteroid discovered in 1977. It holds the story of your core wound, what you are here to heal, and how to heal it. Chiron has been in Aries since 2019, a sign that is fast, impulsive, impatient, and deeply connected to the physical body and identity. Aries says, “I am.” Taurus, where Chiron is now headed, is slow, steady, and grounded in the five senses. It speaks to self-worth, money, and personal possessions. Taurus says, “I have.”
For those with Chiron in Aries, your return may have already been unfolding over the last couple of years, bringing themes of accepting your life as it is rather than what it could have been, and coming to terms with wounds that may have shaped your path up to now.
For those of us with Chiron in Taurus, our return is just beginning. The themes arriving will center around self-esteem, accepting our financial reality in order to move forward, and ultimately coming to terms with our wound so we can heal it. This is exactly why people over 50 often say that was the age they finally stopped caring what others think. I am 49 this year and my Chiron is at 0° Taurus. I feel this one deeply.

New Moon in Gemini, June 14th
The New Moon in Gemini arrives on June 14th in a sextile to Chiron, which is a beautiful and supportive aspect. New Moon, fresh start. This lunation is helping all of us get clarity on what we are healing, whether that looks beautiful, messy, or somewhere in between.
Be mindful not to project your wounds onto others during this time. Instead, channel this energy into something creative and communicative. Start that writing project you have been putting off. Plan that road trip. Reach out to the friend you have been meaning to call. New business ideas may also be flowing in. Find 24° Gemini in your chart to discover which area of life is receiving this fresh beginning. For me it falls in my 7th house of marriage and business partnership, so collaboration is on the horizon, and this is the perfect time to launch those joint projects.

Full Moon in Capricorn, June 29th
The month closes with a powerful Full Moon in Capricorn on June 29th. The Sun in Cancer and the Moon in Capricorn are forming a T square to Saturn, creating productive tension around themes of career, business, and long-term structure. This is a great time to identify what has been weighing you down professionally and consciously release it.
Find 8° Capricorn in your chart to see where this release is asking to happen. In my chart it falls in my 1st house of identity, which means I will be looking honestly at the personality patterns or health habits that have been holding me back from fully stepping onto my path, and letting them go.
