We are halfway through the Year of the Yang Fire Horse. How are you doing?
Which fires are you feeding? Is the Horse running roughshod all over your life, leaving chaos in its wake? Have you jumped on and decided to trust where it takes you? Or are you still standing at a distance, afraid to approach? Wherever you are with this energy, July is asking you to get honest about your relationship with it.

The Month of the Yin Wood Goat
July brings us into the month of the Yin Wood Goat, also known as the Sheep. The Goat is a creature of connection, community, and belonging. But do not let that gentle image fool you. The Goat also carries a stubborn streak and a quiet fighting spirit. You get to choose which expression shows up for you this month.
Sheep are followers by nature, which means they need a shepherd. And this month, many will present themselves. Pay attention to who and what you are choosing to follow. Wood feeds Fire, so energetically this month does not let up. The intensity continues.
There is so much happening astrologically in July that it is hard to know where to begin. Let’s take it one transit at a time.

Mercury Retrograde in Cancer through July 25th
Mercury retrograde began on June 29th in Cancer, the most emotionally sensitive sign in the zodiac, and it goes direct on July 25th. This retrograde is asking us to slow down our communication, especially around anything emotionally charged. Feelings will be running high and things can easily get lost in translation right now.
Wait to have important conversations and confrontations until after Mercury goes direct on the 25th. If you are in the process of buying a home, hold off on signing any closing paperwork until after that date to avoid unnecessary delays and complications. Cancer rules the home and family, so this is especially relevant for anything happening in your domestic world.

Jupiter enters Leo
Jupiter has been in Cancer, the sign of its exaltation, for the last year, and it has now moved into Leo. Leo is a Fire sign that thrives on attention, creativity, and being seen. With Jupiter, the planet of expansion, moving through Leo, the next year brings tremendous opportunities to step into the spotlight and be recognized for who you are and what you do.
Find the house that Jupiter is lighting up in your chart. That is where your expansion is happening. For me it is the 8th house of death, rebirth, transformation, and shared resources. This opens up financial opportunities and the chance to release and transform the parts of my life that have run their course.

Mars conjunct Uranus on July 4th
Mars, the planet of war and action, moved into Gemini on June 29th and is moving toward a conjunction with Uranus, the planet of the unexpected and the unpredictable. This is volatile, electric energy, and it reaches its exact degree on July 4th.
Pay close attention to what unfolds on the 4th. For the United States, this will be a pivotal moment. I would encourage everyone to lay low and avoid stirring up conflict in whatever house this conjunction is activating in your personal chart.

The Barbault Basket, beginning July 19th
This one deserves its own moment of reverence.
French astrologer André Barbault predicted major world events in modern astrological history. He predicted the fall of the Soviet Union and the Covid pandemic using planetary cycles. On July 19th, a rare astrological configuration that astrologers are calling the Barbault Basket will begin to form.
A basket or bucket configuration occurs when two planets oppose each other, while two additional planets form sextiles to those same points, creating a contained energetic structure. In this case Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune will all align at 4 degrees. The number 4 in astrology is associated with Cancer, which speaks to home, family, and emotional security.
Barbault’s prediction for this configuration is amazing! He described it as a total reset of humanity and civilization. World orders and government systems, he said, would break down and be restructured into something more sustainable. He called it a “splendid relaunch of civilization.”
How exactly this unfolds, none of us can say. But it will be one of the most fascinating and significant periods any of us have lived through. The question is not whether things are changing. The question is how you will be part of this new way of life.

Let’s look at your chart and explore what areas of your life this historic reconfiguration will touch. Book a reading and let’s navigate this together.
