Did you feel the shift?
Uranus, the planet of expecting the unexpected, moved out of Taurus and into Gemini, where it will stay until May of 2033. This will feel like a relief to some, especially the fixed signs: Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo. The unexpected changes and curveballs will now be hitting the mutable signs (Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Virgo) for the next several years.
Full Moon in Scorpio, May 1st
May opened with a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio, and what a release it was. This lunation was especially potent because its Sabian symbol (an archetypal energy connected to each degree in astrology) fell at 11° Scorpio, which represents “a drowning man being rescued.” Whatever you released on May 1st may have left you feeling clear, unburdened, and truly rescued.
The Month of the Yin Water Snake
We are in the Month of the Yin Water Snake. The Snake is the sign of transformation, offering you a chance to alchemize your life into what you want it to be. That said, the Snake can be reactive and strike when feeling cornered. Be mindful of lashing out before you have the full picture. The Snake’s natural element is Yang Fire, which is unpredictable and matches the fiery energy of the Year of the Horse. The saving grace this month is Yin Water. Think of a soft spring rain shower, cooling things down. Yin Water is no match for Yang Fire on its own, but my hope is that this quieter, receptive energy will invite us all to slow down, tune into our emotions, and trust our intuition.
New Moon in Taurus, May 16th
The New Moon in Taurus arrives on May 16th, bringing fresh beginnings and some much needed grounding. Taurus is an earth sign, and the collective will feel its stabilizing presence. The Moon will also be conjunct Mercury, opening the door to new ideas and insights. However, Venus, the ruler of Taurus, will be squaring Neptune, so take care that those new ideas are rooted in reality and not wishful thinking. Let the Taurus energy give your visions real substance.
Blue Moon in Sagittarius, May 31st
May gifts us two Full Moons, and the second is a rare Blue Moon in Sagittarius. Sag is the sign of optimism and adventure. What new experiences are calling to you? What has been holding you back from thinking big and saying yes? This lunation is an invitation to release what is keeping you stuck in relationships and in your forward movement. Find 10° Sagittarius in your chart. That is where you are being asked to let go of restrictions.
For me personally, this Full Moon is lighting up my 12th house of the unconscious and is conjunct my Ascendant. It is giving me a powerful opportunity to release what has been holding me back from showing up fully as myself, deepening my connection to my intuition, and stepping more boldly onto my spiritual path.
