Reflections on 2024
There are so many things that I learned from the Year of the Thunder Dragon. Among them is that you never know where lightning will strike, or whether or not you will get struck by it. I got struck by the energetic lightning of the Dragon multiple times in 2024. We lost my Mom who was fighting pancreatic cancer and had a stroke unexpectedly. I found out on the day my mom died that I needed a Cardiac ablation due to having issues with tachycardia and AFib. After having this routine procedure in October, I was supposed to recover within 2 weeks, and have not yet fully recovered. However, I’m getting stronger every day. I hope to get good news soon! Which is why the January update was nowhere to be found.
Thinking about last year I’ve realized that we don’t have control over the lightning, but we can choose how we react to it. I’ve wondered what it means to fully surrender my whole life and I think I’m starting to understand it. Surrender is not about bargaining with the universe to get what you want. It is completely letting go of everything including the outcome. The outcome that we want may not come, but when we let go of that, we get something that we so desperately need. I found everything that I am so grateful for. My sweet and devoted husband who has been taking care of me everyday takes care of the household duties that I once took care of including his own. I have the most incredible friends in the world who would do anything for me including letting me vent, cry and be upset. Which is a tall order because I’m still smack dab in the middle of grieving the loss of my mother and healing from that. They have also distracted me from anything to do with religion and politics which has been awesome because I don’t have the bandwidth to even go there. I have taken so much for granted in my life including things like walking up and down the stairs quickly, going for a walk outside, and driving my car. All of which I am so looking forward to doing very soon!
The year of the Yin Wood Snake
The Snake is the sign of transformation, shedding its skin 2 to 4 times a year and leaving behind what no longer serves it. Also known for its intuition, the Snake has psychic insights that can benefit and guide humanity through these dark times. Make sure to listen to your intuition this year as the Snake will be your guide for 2025. The Snake has a shadow side as well. Here are things to look for. Unexpected events that you don’t see coming, people saying mean things that they DO mean. manipulation and control. Only by listening to your intuition and moving through life in a fluid way like the snake does, will we be able to overcome the dark attributes ahead for 2025.
For all of you Chinese Astrology buffs out there who have a Dog in your chart, which I do in my health pillar, the Dog clashes with the Dragon. Dogs got clobbered by the Dragon in 2024. Good news for Dogs this year is that the Dog and the Snake have a neutral relationship. However, the instability star is in the Northwest sector where the dog lives this year. Which means Dogs are not out of the woods yet, but will have a better time in 2025 than in 2024.
The Pig is the animal that clashes with the year animal which is the Snake. Snakes strike when you least expect it. Pigs, it is important for you, especially this year, to not take things personally! You are very sensitive and caring, whereas the snake is direct and to the point. Clashes provide an awareness of where things need to shift. Polarity is there to help us balance out our lives when they become unbalanced. Pigs will be learning this the most this year. If you have a Pig in your chart, pay attention to the pillar your pig is in which will give you an indication of where the clash will happen in your life. Pigs also need to make sure to not overindulge this year, or the snake will let you know in a not so pleasant way that you need to stop.
Major transits
We have 4 outer planets shifting signs this year. With Pluto already in Aquarius sounding the horn of revolution that begins this year to herald a new beginning for the collective.
Neptune, the planet of illusion, confusion, fear and then trust in the divine, has been transiting Pisces, its sign of dignity since 2011. Neptune will move into the fiery sign of Aries the god of war on March 30th. Neptune a water planet and Aries a fire sign brings a clash of elements.
Uranus, the planet of chaos and expecting the unexpected has been transiting the earthy money sign of Taurus since 2018. On July 7th, Uranus will move into the air sign Gemini, the great communicator.
Saturn the planet of restriction and responsibility will leave the watery sign of Pisces and enter the fiery Aries on the 25th of May.
Jupiter, the planet of abundance and good fortune will leave the air sign Gemini and enter the nurturing sign Cancer on June 10th. Which is Jupiter’s exaltation (Jupiter’s highest expression).
The transit that all astrologers are bracing themselves for in 2025 is the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries beginning in May. Saturn which represents structure and restriction. Neptune which is the spiritual world. They both come together in the sign of Aries will bring about conflict and major tension. This summer will be historical to say the least.
