It’s the month of the Yin Metal Snake. Yin Metal is the element that helps you to get organized. It’s the list of tasks you need to complete in a day. The Snake is fiery and unpredictable. Interesting combo, right? It can be difficult to plan anything when you have the unpredictability of the Snake ready to strike. The combination of Metal and Fire is like picking up a hot curling iron from the wrong end, which I did numerous times as a hairstylist. It hurts! This is not a month to push. This is a month to allow the shedding of the snakeskin to happen naturally, which at times can be uncomfortable. So, the key word for this month is Surrender. I totally get that times are scary and uncertain. Try not to get caught up in the fear and chaos. Not only are we asked to surrender this month but get grounded. It’s spring in the northern hemisphere, so go outside and be in nature. Go to the park, sit on the grass, go for a walk. Earth energy helps us to ground and will temper the raging fire of the snake. The transformation will happen whether or not we want it to. It’s up to you to choose if you will surrender to it or not.

The Full Moon in Scorpio happens on May 12th. Full moons are about release and letting go. Scorpio is about intensity and extremes. This one is a doozy because the Sun is conjunct Uranus, which means the Moon is opposite Uranus. Uranus wants detachment and independence; the Moon wants intimacy and closeness. Not only are you letting go of something intense, but you are at odds with letting it go. Uranus is also about unpredictability, so you may be letting go of something that you were not expecting. On May 25th the stern, old Saturn begins its transition out of Pisces and into Aries. Saturn is in Fall when it enters the sign of Aries which means it does not feel comfortable to shine in this sign. Saturn will be in Aries for the next 2 ½ years. Saturn is the planet that restricts the flow of energy and Aries is just that. Drive and energy. So, you can see how these two clash. Aries is the sign that is associated with war. Saturn is the planet of focus. The last time Saturn was in Aries between 1996 – 1998, the Kosovo War and Operation Desert Fox took place. Finding Aries energy in your chart will show you where you have restrictions showing up over the next couple of years. The positive aspects of Saturn into Aries, is it will shine a light on what responsibilities you have in this area of your chart. Especially for those who have an Aries Sun, Moon, or Rising. For example, I’m an Aries Sun, and Aries rules my 4th House of home, family, safety and stability. I moved to Australia and served an LDS mission from 1996 -1998. Saturn moved me out of the country and out of my comfort zone but taught me so many lessons along the way.

The day after Saturn enters Aries, Mercury the God of communication enters the sign of Gemini. Mercury is in its Dignity when in the sign of Aries. This means that Mercury is at home in Gemini. It can truly express itself. You can expect great communication and lively conversions during this transit. Bright ideas might come to your mind. Make sure to write them down because Mercury in Gemini gets easily distracted and thrown off track. So, this is a month to make sure to focus on what you want to accomplish rather than trying to do everything.

Just as Mercury enters Gemini, the New Moon in Gemini brings new beginnings to brave new endeavors on May 26th. This New Moon is setting off a Trine (blessing) to Pluto. This showers blessings on new projects and manifestations. This is a great Moon to get clear about what you want to do next. Check your chart for 6° Gemini and this house will show you where to focus new energy. I have this showing up in my 6th house of Occupation and Health. Which is such good news to hear as I have been navigating some health issues. So, this could bring me a brand-new start for my body and health.
